It's quite interesting how this passion project started - it began with a challenge to work with glass and opaque materials, so we kicked things off with a very cool-looking PS5 controller concept we designed.

However, we quickly realized that no matter how well we made it, it was still just a game controller. So, we shifted gears. I had recently come across these see-through designs on searchsystem, and I was fascinated by their intricate detail and how light played around them. That’s when we found our new product!

We tied the crystal-clear glass to real rocks and crystals found in nature and made that connection. I saw these amazing-looking crystal packs from AssetKit, and we began our work.

While studying them, we went further by creating these "growth" systems on the crystals. And to keep render times manageable, we mixed it with fake caustics using the Shaders Plus Addon.

Ahmed, our modeller, created an incredible recreation of the earbuds and the case. They were so good that no matter how we twisted or turned them, they always looked great from all angles!

They all became a perfect shot in their own right. It was amazing to see a mostly glass material object perform so well in any lighting conditions. Hats off to you, sir!

This passion project, like our others, has performed wonders for our studio. It won "Best of Passion Projects" by Stash and was featured in the "Best of 2025" on Behance.

Not only has it excelled as a standalone project, but it has also helped us secure more job opportunities. To this day, this project continues to yield benefits.
