Freedom to create

This project brought me back to my roots as an artist, having the ultimate freedom to create almost anything we wanted within the few rules given; deadline, budget, Samsung & Counter Strike.

AI for scene suggestions

I explored a workflow suggested by Mathi, which worked extremely well. This method was used in the "photoshoot" environment, where we wanted to portray a set that was still in production.

But, having run out of ideas for what to add where, a neat trick was to screenshot the image, explain to ChatGPT what you were working on, and have it generate suggested items and things ON TOP of your render.
It gave us an instant view of what to add, what we may have forgotten, and what else to add. Truly a game-changing method when you are extremely tight on time.

AI for quick re-textures

Having made such a detailed and lifelike environment, what truly let the scene down were the original materials and textures from the game model of the Counter-Strike Operator. We didn't have time to redo the textures completely, and that's where AI came to use again. With the AI tool Magnific, we could input the original textures and generate them again on top, using our desired prompt.

Now, they aren't perfect and have many artefacts and issues that need to be manually fixed in Photoshop, but the speed they offered was unbeatable. And in these quick "photoshoot" shots, we opted for "good enough to pass".

nostalgia

This project takes me back to the FaZe Clan days, when Futhark was the Lead 3D team for 2.5 years. So much creative freedom, so much fun, and despite it being the most stressful years I've ever had, they were also some of the most fun.
